OUR CRAFT

Where Silk Becomes a Flower.

At VERDELIA, every botanical form begins with carefully chosen materials and the patient work of handcraft.

Inspired in part by the traditional Chinese art of Ronghua, we explore how silk, metal, pearl and other handcraft techniques can be transformed into contemporary botanical jewelry.

FROM MATERIAL TO FORM

We begin with the form, not the finished flower.

We look to the curve of a petal, the structure of a bloom, the rhythm of leaves and the way light moves across a natural form. These details are then reinterpreted through materials, shaping and hand assembly.

Silk brings softness.
Metal brings structure.
Pearl brings depth and light.

Together, they become botanical forms made to be worn.

HAND-SHAPED, NEVER IDENTICAL

Each piece is shaped and assembled by hand, from individual petals to the final placement of each element.

Small variations in shape, texture and placement are a natural part of the process. We embrace these subtle differences as part of what makes a handcrafted piece feel alive.

A CRAFT THAT EVOLVES

Ronghua is one of the traditions that inspires our work, but it is not where the story ends.

We explore different forms of handcraft — from silk flower making and hand-shaped metal to weaving, textile-inspired techniques and other ways of transforming botanical forms.

For us, craftsmanship is not about preserving a form exactly as it was.

It is about discovering where it can go next.
